Cryogenic Grinding System
 
Cryogenic size reduction (grinding) of spices is an acceptable technique that helps to retain the natural quality of spices. Use of liquid nitrogen provides the required low temperature so that volatile components and essential oils content which preserve the spice flavor retains during grinding process.

Cryogenic grinding of spices is a method of powdering spices/herbs at sub zero temperatures ranging from 0 to minus 196 0C.the spices are frozen with liquid nitrogen, as they are being ground. This process does not damage or alter the chemical composition of the spices in any way. Normal grinding process which does not use a cooling system can reach up to 200 0C temp. This high temperature can reduce volatile components and heat sensitive constituents in spices.


Deep Cryogenic Treatment
 
The processor is computer controlled taking the temperature to minus 3000F below 1 degree a minute.  The temperature is held there for a specific period of time (depending on the material) and then brought up again 1 degree a minute.  The atmosphere is cooled with liquid nitrogen.

• Freezing the material at -300oF to modify the microstructure and improve the properties.
• A "dry" process.
• A "one time" treatment.
• A "through" treatment.
• A treatment to improve properties - particularly the wear properties.
 

Shrink Fitting
 

Shrink fitting, (or "compression fitting" as it is sometimes called), is a method used to insert a pin or bushing into a housing or other assembly requiring an extremely tight tolerance fit. It can be used as an alternative to conventional press fitting, or more likely, to permit a mechanical fit that otherwise could not be accomplished via the mechanical force of press fitting

In application, the insert is cooled via exposure to a cryogen, typically carbon dioxide (solid or liquid) or liquid nitrogen in order to reduce its size through the contraction usually associated with reduced temperatures.
